LANG Guides Back in PARIS

Last night Observed the return from the excellent Austrian developer Helmut Lang towards the Rome current fashion trends after an absence of 5yrs. This is a measure of his or her impact that when they 1st upped as well as remaining this kind of city, moving his or her business in order to The big apple back 1997, they once disrupted the entire style diary.
Although U . s . creative designers had been forced to comply with Milan as well as Paris for many years, Lang bucked the machine totally and set the actual night out pertaining to his display prior to the selections inside the second item two metropolitan areas acquired perhaps commenced. Manner mayhem ensued but exactly where Lang brings, other people follow as well as the Ny choices remain 1st for the four-city routine.
National politics aside, the shadow that custom portrays more than modern day fashion is solid. Certainly not pertaining to Lang virtually any careless variation in seasons gown.
As an alternative, when he launched his / her enterprise within the mid-Eighties, he got down to develop a practical, functioning clothing with regard to downtown women and men of nearly every age, yet still really does that.
It's a design that has got huge extended life. While the high-street may be influenced by Marc Jacobs 1 period along with Gucci the subsequent, Lang's low-slung, thin, androgynous outline is ever before existing and fashion's current love affair together with utilitarian costume makes him seem more robust nevertheless.
For your designer's spring/ summer time The year 2003 series the colour color scheme had been, keep in mind, primarily natural: dark-colored, bright along with camel with whizzes involving coloring. This time spherical it was atmosphere azure, fluorescent yellow and flare. Drainpipe trousers, skinny, knee-length coats, vests along with move attire ended up, of course, the actual core with the seem.
The demon, even so, was in the particular depth. Sections associated with chiffon along with Latex Hot Pants were stitched into the easiest made of woll outfit creating inspiration and also depth. Virtually any seriousness ended up being softened by simply idiosyncratic adding, merely a flutter of gauzy textile peeping through underneath any skinny coat as well as by simply slim material neckties fluttering about a rigorous blouse as well as tank top.
Wherever modern day evening-wear is anxious, it might be hard to envision anything at all smaller when compared to a gown of uninteresting sequins held in polymer-bonded fine mesh : your thinking lady's Versace, possibly.
Lang
is actually, actually, today held through Prada as well as the corporate and business mind powering an italian man , mega-corporation won't be dissatisfied. Introduced inside vibrant, white warehouse which Lang used commandeer whenever perfectly found on the This particular language fashion cash, everything appeared as appropriate as always: awesome, elegant along with essentially traditional however constantly having a resolutely modern border.

All this gathered within London. London, New York and also Milan almost all contributed, in their approaches, numerous post and also sections towards following spring/summer. But it ended up being with the Rome pret-a-porter implies that the brand new season's themes were woven in to each other along with coherence as well as style.
Certain, we had seen mini skirts, dazzling colors along with brilliant patterns in Milan. There were sentimental personal references and uptown retro classics inside Nyc. And, of course, there was London's very obvious stylish mood. Nevertheless it was London which made it most worldwide -- along with real. Abruptly, future trend boomed in a very light headed, frantic fusion involving tips, inspirations and also fantasies : let alone exciting clothing.
Probably this is because Paris is, undisputedly, the capital regarding "sexy latex pants Fashion". Japan, Belgians, Brits, Dutch, Singaporeans, Italians, Moroccans and also the French present right now there. This particular results in a correct reducing weed regarding tradition and imagination, by which style can easily prosper.

McQueen's amazing expedition of search moved via wreck fashionable for you to animals bursts associated with color and also beautiful ruffles.
Stella McCartney,
soon after a couple of weak-to-middling conditions, moved again together with her good ole' 'n' rotate satisfies sexy-sweet design. On the other hand, the girl former right-hand female, Phoebe Philo, with Chloe, soon after a pair of robust conditions, is at more middle-of-the-road setting.
Julien Macdonald
created a lacklustre demonstrating from Givenchy. Why will not a person throughout operations allow him to loose within the Audrey Hepburn archives?
Marc Jacobs,
alternatively, opened up his / her Louis Vuitton show which has a dozen short-sleeved, round-collared, sweet-satin gowns that were genuine Audrey, prior to maneuvering to the particular wilder shores regarding browse elegant, along with pastel, Neoprene tropical drink matches along with Fityfive boogie frocks.

The brand new size has been all over the place, coming from bloused tunics by Alber Elbaz with regard to Lanvin to be able to bloused, ruched and also plaited forms in Comme des Garons and also large, bloused batwings over quick, small micro-minis with Dior.

Internet: B razil Crazy

CSS are one groups who perhaps tend to be fun like a live entity than these are on record. Lead singer Lovefoxxx (above) has always cut a prepossessing figure when she hits the stage - during last year's T around the block, this column watched her strip off one rainbow-hued velour catsuit to show... yet another spangly catsuit. Gawd knows how she were able to squeeze into the two. Anyway, they have an extremely flashy mini-mix of these new record on their website, that makes deciding whether you could be bothered with their B razil synth-punk oeuvre much simpler.

It isn't often that I recommend a radio Latex Uniforms show - DJs' musical tastes, on the whole, are generally too inconsistent to depend upon - but On the Wire's presenter Steve Barker have been as of this for 24 a number of, like John Peel, may be there and done that. The stuff he plays mines the concept of reggae, hip-hop, electro, the further reaches of Indie and also the avant garde.

HOURS of fun with this one. As you move the perception of YouTube tends to be as a repository of ancient pop videos, animals doing funny things the ones mixing Pepsi and Mentos to hilarious effect, there exists various other pieces. Interesting, informative stuff. Just like the BFI channel, which includes hours and hours of fascinating videos that you could trawl for good and not get bored (except the one that has Keith Chegwin, that's merely weird).

AH, another return to gaming times of yore. At the peak of the ZX Spectrum's reign, Monty Mole appeared and won the hearts of many. I do not think I ever actually owned this, rather it turned out a ratty copy that only worked if the sun and moon were inside the correct alignment. But I loved the stupidity of computer - Monty is out and about after making the incorrect side of the law through the miners' strike. A bizarre collision of left-wing politics and eye-slashing colour-clash graphics. Hours of nose-bleed frustrating fun.

To be able to aid the process of recovery, Hawkins kept a low profile, aside from a short and disastrous bid to represent Britain inside 2007 Eurovision Song Contest with a singer called Beverlei Brown. We were holding beaten by failed pop act Scooch, a situation of affairs that will have arisen from Hawkins' candour in the live interview. "I heard it has been your lifetime's ambition to be in Eurovision," Fearne Cotton enthused. "I wouldn't say lifetime," he demurred. "More the final half a year, since my career took place the toilet."

He admits that he wouldn't change anything about how exactly his career has panned out - "You don't head to Alton Towers to obtain around the merry-go-round, you try to get on the rollercoaster" - and claims that this Darkness' dramatic fall from favour makes it easier for Hot Leg, about whom he could be hugely, infectiously enthusiastic. He's creating the album himself, mostly because everyone understands which is the proper way to perform things nowadays, but additionally because "no major record label would touch me which has a bargepole". "I've been cancelled, basically, and anything that happens from this level on in is an additional benefit. Celebrate it more pleasurable, because there's no pressure to do anything or achieve anything. People just assume it'll fall by the wayside. Whether it doesn't, that's a good result."

I ask if he found success to become all it's cracked approximately be, and he nods vigorously. "Oh yeah, success is everything it's cracked as much as be. Everybody prefer to have success absolutely nothing. But equally, the decline just isn't as bad perhaps you might imagine. I needed one really intense year." He smiles, revealing his famously wonky teeth. "If I don't have more success within my life," he admits that, "I've already had excessive.

The girl inside red-leather catsuit, all Formula One curves, Latex Catsuits strode on the deck in the warship. The suit am tight it couldn't conceal an afterthought, though the blonde didn't seem self-conscious, even though the eyes around the globe were to be with her - or, at least, around the precious cargo she carried in their transparent briefcase.

But then the bank of photographers began their cicada hissing and their hyena snarls to obtain the girl's attention. It annoyed the tall, slim man inside good blue suit (Gieves & Hawkes, perhaps?) who stood waiting for the products. How dare they bark at her that way? What had happened to the world? His fingers itched to get one another inside a fist and help them learn a lesson.

Okay, that's enough trying to imitate Ian Fleming. It's exhausting.

How did Sebastian Faulks - the man in the blue suit, above, who did need to belt the rude photographers only at that week's launch of his Mission impossible novel - have the ability to impersonate Fleming for an entire book? And the way did he get it done without the benefit of the quarts of gin and custom-made cigarettes that kept Fleming (somewhat) sane?

The answer is, he almost didn't. Once the keepers in the Fleming estate approached the award-winning novelist with the indisputable fact that he don Fleming's dinner jacket and write a brand new Bond novel, Faulks reported his dance card was full. After all, he or she is a writer considered as with thrall to characters' inner lives as Fleming would have been to their surfaces. What type of beast may derive from this union?

"We agreed that we would glance at the original books," says Faulks, having recovered from his Bond moment aboard the HMS Exeter, and after this sitting down to a interview near his west London home, "and whenever they were complete trash, when i expected the crooks to be, then we would forget it. However they weren't complete trash. I thoroughly enjoyed them."

Faulks hadn't grabbed a Bond novel for 40 years, when being a schoolboy he'd read them beneath the sheets through the night (a Bond novel found at his strict boarding school might have been immediately packed away in the boy's suitcase, to become told to go home towards the end of term). Decades later, the writer of Birdsong and Human Traces was amazed to locate himself trapped in Fleming's world of megalomaniacs, lethal-hatted henchmen and cruel, lonely spies. He was quoted saying yes. A wedding of convenience became a wedding of love, or at least fondness, and six weeks after Faulks began writing, he delivered Devil May Care.

It can be 1967 at the outset of the novel, the Rolling Stones just arrested for drug possession, and kids in miniskirts and velvet flares are smoking weed around the King's Road as Bond drives by in his Bentley. It's a different world: As London swings, 007 is feeling his years - and it doesn't help that M has had up yoga.

"Although he's aging and rueful to start with, he's soon ahead form," Faulks says having a smile and - there is not any other solution to use it - a gleam in his eye. Clearly, he was thrilled to set aside serious things and play with the therapy lamp of goodies that Fleming forgotten. There's a villain using a hideously deformed hand (Faulks's father knew someone with similar "monkey's paw" mutation), a henchdude having a ridiculous nickname, along with a girl (or two) with legs built on forever plus an actual brain up top. There are trips to exotic Paris and Persia, several shuddering scenes of torture, plus a blatant telegraphing of bad-assedness that will make Fleming smile round his cigarette holder. Where else but in a Bond novel would the villain stepped on a puppy within the opening pages?

Distinctive GERI BUYS Young women POUNDS 20K Rings

GERI Halliwell has presented all the Spice Girls using a pure gold ring worth pounds 20,000 ... saying thanks to them for having her back.

All five Spices have pledged to put on the glittering bands, as well as gift necklaces from manager Simon Fuller, during their comeback concerts.

The happens to be cost a lot replicas of cheap trinkets Geri, 34, gave Victoria Beckham, 33, Melanie Chisholm, 33, Melanie Brown, 32, and Emma Bunton, 31, after they were starting out. 5 - who has not been inside the same room together for many years - met up to have an emotional breakfast at the Four Seasons Hotel in London's Docklands before their relaunch Latex Catsuit  last week.

Geri, who walked out for the band in 1998 to produce her solo career, stood up generating a difficult speech - and presented the jewellery.

An aide said: "It was obviously a lovely moment. Geri got out a bag and handed the opposite ladies a beautifully wrapped package. In each would have been a box containing a diamond ring.

"Then Geri developed a speech to thank the others for forgiving her inside them for hours her back. She pulled back her sleeve and indicated that she had been wearing hers. Each will shed a tear. It turned out the moment of reconciliation."

Simon gave 5 diamond happens to be from necklaces, with each one of the pieces from Boodles of Bond Street worth around pounds 50,000.

Girls wore them as they continued planning of the world tour - which has a million fans registering for tickets within One day in the launch of a new website - thespicegirls.com. A spokesman said: "At this rate, there can be five million applications from the middle of in the near future."

Geri promises to borrow back her Union Jack dress for your tour - it had been sold for pounds 40,000 to the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel. But Posh has her trademark catsuits remade because she's so thin now.

"I wouldn't fit into the catsuit now," she admits. "I think I became pregnant during the time or something like that because it's just too large and disgusting." Using a microphone thrust into his palm from the Algerian rai star Rachid Taha, a watching Albarn had no option but to improvise. The noise curfew came and went - no one had the center to pull the plug. By the time, Taha and Albarn rallied the throng right into a riotous North African annihilation with the Clash's Rock the Casbah, anyone useful to monitor the minutes had joined the many people on stage, these lost with a most thrilling musical spectacles of the or another Glastonbury.

Sweating over Elvis inside a catsuit at family's surprisebirthday 'party' birthday 'party'

" WHAT'S that?" I demanded, pointing angrily towards main road.

"What's what?" teased my partner, desperately wanting to suppress a smug smile.

"That around the bloody traffic island?" "Just a number of balloons, streamers and... " "And," I growled, "a picture of me aged 18 about the beach at Blackrock Sands, using the words 'This happy camper is 52 today' beneath it." "I wished to surprise you," mouthed my better half, looking crestfallen.

"You've succeeded," I announced sarcastically.

"I'm officially surprised - and shocked.

"Are you aware someone's drawn rude bits for the Latex Dresses Long picture? Who the hell did that?" "I really don't know," confessed Julie, "there was a good queue of people on the internet for this morning with felt-tips.

I cast a shocked glance to the heavens. "... in addition to your mother," she added, "but I do think she just blacked out the teeth.

"I supposed to climb there myself and alter the rude bit so it seemed like you're holding a cigar, but... " I closed my eyes and took a deep breath slowly.

"It's definitely someone by having an arts background," she confided. "If you gaze closely, anatomically, it is extremely detailed."

I figured hard, before shrieking: "The youth at Number 57 is taking a fine arts degree. He said he was checking pre-Raphaelites. That might explain the doodles of cherubim flying round my torso."

I shook my head in the display of defeat and attempted to bury my embarrassment by thumbing the evening paper's pages. 'This happy camper... ', trumpeted a headline about the 'announcements' page. Exactly the same 1976 picture from Blackrock sands was displayed in glorious colour.

"Hold on!" I bellowed. "This picture's got rude bits utilized it, too."

"I know," laughed Julie, " a rep with the paper called Roger accustomed to use you. He thought you'd understand the funny side."

"Was it his idea," I stuttered, "to hang an indicator for the obscene artwork with, 'Wilkinson's Blinds, for the perfect cover up' about it?" My spouse nodded. "Sponsorship, apparently."

I flung the rag on to the ground. "The both of you, not forgetting Wilkinson's Blinds," I bellowed, "have today succeeded to produce me a laughing stock."

"That's far from the truth," she protested, "you've been a laughing stock since that gorilla threw orange excrement at you in that school trip to Dudley Zoo."

Achievable, I stormed out your front door, ripping down the 'happy birthday, you wrinkly old swine' banner in the porch when i went. I kicked the ribboned Zimmer frame positioned on the driveway.

What part, I pondered, of the phrase, 'This year, I'd rather just overlook my birthday' did my partner not understand? On reflection, the whole thing.

I've realised that with each year after 50 the ageist barbs be a little more cruel, the messages for the birthday cards a bit more cutting. The main one from Colin states, 'Not long now - stoke up the furnace in the crematorium, lads'.

I would count my blessings. He wanted that message on the free ad in your the local press, but even they believed it slightly tactless: not so much the verse, actually -more the accompanying picture of a roast chicken.

I stormed home, after a couple of too many sherbets, to be greeted by the posse of relatives.

"Here's that old man," chuckled my wide-boy cousin Kevin, adding: "Could someone open your window - I'm suddenly getting a whiff of stale urine?" My elderly mother shuffled forward clutching a wrapped gift. "I didn't determine what to acquire," she fussed, "so I aquired... " "... a sweatshirt," I interrupted.

"How did you guess?" she grumbled. In 1979 I told my mother, just as one aside, that we needed a sweatshirt. Since then I've received a sweatshirt on every birthday.

Frankly, I'm right from sweat and could do by incorporating salt tablets.

Not Elvis, within the catsuit Vegas years, could produce enough perspiration to saturate my entire wardrobe of sweatshirts.

As I sat dejectedly in my armchair, I fingered a card from my 13-year-old nephew Alex. "Happy birthday, Uncle Michael, " said the scrawled message inside.

"For your real age you appear great... almost life-like."

She also considers it's historically important

'Understanding the Reagan family might greatly assist towards understanding what happened in the usa in the Eighties. A lot of the whatever saw happen in the family happened in the nation. It turned out a kind of drowsy decade and we lulled.'

Does she care about hurting and exposing her parents? 'I don't believe the facts must be embarrassing, although I Latex Jeans they perceive it that way. I trust telling the truth. But that's not always going being pretty.

'Of course I love hurting them. But I do think that sometimes people choose to get hurt when the evidence doesn't validate their pain. I do believe that folks perusing this book are going to understand them better and feel compassionate.' She pours herself a cupful of tea, sits back and doesn't offer me one.

Did she should wash her dirty laundry so publicly? 'Nobody's childhood experiences are dirty laundry. Such phrases keep people feeling ashamed and guilty about what they experienced as children. Folks have to feel entitled to talk about whatever pain they went through so they can heal it. There is certainly not shocking on this book. Everybody knows that people get dependent on drugs thus hitting their kids.'

Her family, she says, isn't any different even though it's famous. No less than she scotches the rumour that Nancy had an affair with Frank Sinatra.

Just what exactly of Davis herself? A non-smoker and vegetarian, she lives in a Santa Monica bungalow having a pet squirrel and also a dog. She quit drugs in 1981, 'toughing it out' by hand and smoking the sporadic joint to alleviate the ride. She's got Jungian therapy once per week and contains been seeing a psychiatrist 'on and off' in the past 21 years.

She hasn't had a serious partnership since she divorced yoga instructor Paul Grilley in 1990. 'I love being alone. I'm too comfortable being alone. I would not meet people because I don't venture out enough.' Is it true her parents didn't know she would marry Grilley until they see clearly inside papers? 'I didn't know I was planning to marry him until I read it within the papers!'

She explains that she tried a modelling shoot for Courreges in France and set a ring on that finger. 'I returned to the States and Newsweek a picture of my hand with this particular ring onto it, saying i was engaged. We checked out the other person. We had arrived already living together so we needed a toaster, so we chose to undertake it.'

Davis was sterilised at 24 because she was terrified of repeating her mother's mistakes. But she has since had the operation reversed and would love to use a child. 'I don't discover the notion of raising a child on my own frightening. Only became pregnant, I'd provide the man an opportunity to possess all the or only a small amount related to it as being he wanted.'

She doesn't think she is spiteful, selfish or bitter. ('I was'.)

And she knows she's exploited being the daughter of the ex-President. 'It makes me more interesting, yeah.'

How Emma T was raised to be Emma P

EMMA Thompson has been tipped to play Emma Peel in a Hollywood remake in the Avengers. (Pause that can be a sinks in). In the beginning sight, this appears like a clear case of LA casting agents working coming from a shortlist of all the so-called English actresses called Emma they've ever heard of. There seems to be no other earthly reasons why she must be their prime target. Emma P 's all high stilettos, black Latex Corsets , lacquered hair and heavy eyeshadow. Emma T is flat shoes, nice long linen skirts, bobbed hair and facial scrubs.

But Hollywood's organ-grinders have seen past her Victorian petticoats and spied the feline steel of Diana Rigg's immortal creation lurking there.

Shrink-wrapped in black leather, Mrs Peel emasculated men in each and every episode. They loved it. There was a time when she figured in most schoolboy fantasy. Geoff Hurst couldn't have a look in. Emma Peel posed leggily on every bedroom wall.

This suited the women: over these pre-feminist dark ages, here was a woman who could stun like Brigitte Bardot for looks and hold her own inside a judo contest through an unshaven eastern European thug.

Nowadays boys dream about Pamela Anderson. The beach blonde can be a hero for zeros, not a role model for women who would like to stone-glass ceilings in lieu of lie prone and stare up at them.

It's been a lifetime considering that the likes of Pussy Galore and her Sapphic flying circus altered the path of history with one turning of these joysticks when they wheeled above Fort Knox.

Nowadays winsome Pamela is counterpointed by foul-mouthed bestial Tank Girl. Amazonian women while using wit and physical capacity to slice their adversaries in two with elegance are actually replaced by a backcombed bunny and a female Chapman.

No wonder Hollywood has decided how the the years have visit recreate Nanny Peel that is part Baroness Thatcher, part Sally Gunnell, part Elizabeth Hurley. Which begs the obvious question: why's the divine Miss Hurley not just the key contender to the role, but the only contender? The resemblance between her and also the early Diana Rigg is uncanny. And, as the cover shots because of this month's Vogue prove, she is a lady who does not baulk at spending her time in the leather catsuit.

Liz is surely the natural heir of previous girls in black leather: Diana Rigg, Honor Blackman, Girl with a Motorbike (Marianne Faithfull), Linda Thorson (one other Emma Peel), Joanna Lumley, Michelle Pfeiffer and Miss Whiplash. Emma T, on the other hand, looks that she'd wear thermal underwear under her bikini just in case.

VERSATILE though she could possibly be, a babe movie may not seem to be her greatest new career after Merchant Ivory and her new Jane Austen adaptation. Her Stateside public image is rooted firmly inside floppy-haired Oxbridge thespian aristocracy. A saleable enough image, and one which, thankfully to be with her, doesn't seem to have suffered with Mr Grant's indiscretion, therefore the brains along with the lingo will be in place. Now to the makeover. Finally, time is around the actress's side. Emma Peel is billed as an intelligent, womanly character. At 36, Thompson is simply year more than Honor Blackman when she became Mrs Peel's predecessor, Cathy Gale, within the first series of The Avengers. What has come about as a surprise will be the resistance from those passionate schoolboys that have grown up just a little, although not much. 'Trying to duplicate The Avengers is defiling the memory of Diana Rigg,' said one, who only really wants to be referred to as Peter. 'I'll give Emma Thompson a possibility though,' he continued being forced. 'It depends upon what she appears like in black leather.'

They share a reputation, that is certainly about all. Yet, reveals ,TAMASIN DOE Hollywood's favourite English actress is at line for that role of Steed's sexy sidekick in a very movie of The Avengers

FAMOUS Supporting ACT BACK Which has a VENGEANCE

DIANA Rigg needed more than just moral support as she thrust herself into saving the world inside the Avengers.

Plus the trademark black Latex Catsuit, Emma Peel - previously played by Honor Blackman - apparently also wore a Playtex Cross Your Heart bra, enabling her to defy the forces of gravity along with evil -without giving Steed, her suave partner inside combat crime, a heart attack.

A revamped film version from the cult series has cast Uma Thurman as the female lead but wisely chosen to stick by having an old friend to the boosting role.

Yesterday evening the creators of lingerie's reply to a flying buttress were celebrating with all the launch at Debenhams' stores of 2,000 limited-edition, black Avenger-style bras at GBP 20 each.

Jessica Edwards, a spokeswoman to the line, was a minimum of honest about its limitations.

"We don't claim they can turn you into the next Uma Thurman by simply gaining our bras," she admitted. "But within the 1960s once the Avengers first hit the screen, women all over the world were eager to get the striking silhouette evinced by Honor Blackman in their own slinky catsuits - and we're proud to say Cross Your Heart helped them."

She described the bra as "one of the world's most revolutionary components of engineering", adding: "It seemed incredible at that time, when bras were unwieldy, uncomfortable and awkward to wear, a bra without having underwiring could give such wonderful support and shape."

Not really a million miles from your thoughts Steed will need to have suppressed while he brandished his brolly and bowler hat within the fight against crime.

Ralph Fiennes - who follows Patrick Macnee as John Steed - and Sean Connery as the evil villain Sir August de Wynter, may possibly also find their tea-cups rattling disconcertingly as Thurman shoe-horns herself in to the heroine's role inside new film.

Perhaps her Yorkshire down-to-earthness is the secret of her durability. When she was a child, bread with jam and butter wasn't allowed before a slice of plain bread had first been consumed. As being a young actress she realised she was on the path to success when she found a Pounds 1 note in her purse that was not included. As being a successful actress inside the Avengers, she found that, at Pounds 90 every week, she was paid Pounds 10 weekly below the cameramen, and insisted that this rate be doubled. Although The Avengers remains shown in a large number of countries, she collects no royalties - financial mismanagement that evidently nags.

She have a genial dislike of journalists, accepting lunch invitations in the better sort of wordsmith, while revealing relatively little. The tabloids she calls "grubbies" and he or she will not be interviewed by any female reporter - "grubbettes" in their parlance. "They are so mean," she says. "They continually play in the sisterhood card. 'I'm women, too,' they are saying, 'and we now have this stuff in accordance.' And then they abuse it so cynically on the internet."

Chanel ushers inturn of body-stocking and flappers

STELLA TENNANT, the English model who's the face of Chanel, was forced yesterday to protect the usage of ultra-thin models with the designer Karl Lagerfeld.

As Latex catsuit mens overall black women emerged to the suite in the Paris Ritz, absurdly slim in body-stockings, it became clear that Claudia Schiffer will no longer includes a place at the Chanel shows because her fuller figure is outmoded.

Following your show, a beleaguered Tennant was asked to justify the appearance and her very own figure. There will vary shapes of female body. Karl has been doing a show that emphasises thinness. It's another extreme,'' she said. Lagerfeld himself, a resplendently full figure, appeared oblivious towards the storm and wafted his black fan before his face.

Inside the fashion world, you will have few happy to criticise. The autumn/winter haute couture collection was considered a triumph. There was evening dresses exquisitely decorated with silver leaves and long satin coat-dresses delicious enough to warrant the lending company loans forced to get them.

While other designers battle to give relevance to couture, Lagerfeld seems able effortlessly to reinterpret the Chanel legacy for any younger generation. Yesterday the models were flapper girls, with cloche hats, art deco head-dresses and gold-leaf visors, paying homage to early Coco Chanel designs. There was also Chinese embroidered coats and jackets.

But the garments more than likely to achieve ordinary women were the body-stockings. Under long coats and evening dresses, they looked suspiciously like leggings, and even catsuits. Created by Lagerfeld we were holding beautiful, but beware cheap imitations, doubtless visiting a top street store soon.

Lagerfeld recoiled through the term body-stocking. This is just not tight Lycra,'' he explained. The suits are made by haute couture ways to fit every angle with the body.'' But there was an ominous afterword: They may be possible from the people.''

And we are all aware what that means. A byword for style ten years ago, leggings are now the naffest clothing money can find. Worn rich in heels, and also by large-thighed women, they are a truly shocking sight. But Lagerfeld, surrounded by some of the world's most breathtaking women, rarely has got to confront such a sight, which can be why he has blithely teamed heels using the body-suits.

So can he single-handedly rehabilitate leggings and catsuits? Tennant was circumspect: Because of this collection the garments have quite simple lines, so the body selling underneath emphasises the pureness of silhouette. I do not necessarily think it is a case of leggings being the trend in the future.''

But Lagerfeld has support in the willowy form of Camilla Nickerson, editor of American Vogue. On Monday night she was spotted in a all-in-one bodysuit. It could be just a matter of time before others follow.

More show-stopping, but less successful correctly, were sheer tweed trouser suits trimmed with vulture feathers, in case you please, or the same suit in pink marabou. For evening, there were exquisitely worked gold and silver beaded creations and pastel chiffon dresses made of several intricately woven panels to count.

Phat opportunity

Velcro Girl Has Lit Fires Inside the Little Thumping Hearts Of Zig And Zag - To state Nothing Of each and every Irish Male Who Has Clapped Eyes On 2Phat. Politically Incorrect? Have a Grip, Says This Fan, And Have A Laugh

There exists a Latex Accessoires clad woman wandering around a tv set in RTE. She wears what was once known as kinky boots and has strips of velcro attached with her slender limbs. Ask her what she does besides blow kisses with the camera during crucial areas of a TV programme called 2Phat and he or she says; "Nothing - being Velcro Girl can be a full-time job".

She has a place. With only the second season of 2Phat (also featuring Ray D'Arcy and Zig and Zag) recently underway, Velcro Girl has caught the imagination of every Irish male which has a pulse. When she walks into pubs nowadays her signature tune is sung at her. Sometimes the Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo, Doo won't stop until she blows the whole pub a kiss.

Velcro Girl ("she's a lady in black, she's a sticky back") will be the woman Zig and Zag would've being a girlfriend if they weren't furry aliens. Like the taxi driver Tom Zogly, Uncle Fred, Reverend Groove and also the pot bellied pig jane is also certainly one of a plethora of comic creations invented by Ray as well as the boys from Zog. Every one of them elevate 2Phat from the mundanity of merely another 30 minutes slot targeted at an audience, the tricky 15-24 group, whom RTE are more employed to alienating than attracting.

The thought of 2Phat is straightforward: 15 like-minded school-friends make up the studio audience all whom making the effort to win the impressively shiny scooter that may be up for grabs during each programme. Essentially they are there to respond to pop trivia, dance, often very, very badly it should be said, and be wholly slagged from the three presenters. After they walk onto the 2Phat set D'Arcy - whom you will remember from such programmes since the Den and Blackboard Jungle - puts them immediately at their ease. The Phat Family dance, involving the pelvis gyrating in one direction as well as the chest muscles transferring one other, is practised. Ray asks the group from Dromard, Co Longford, to be sure their cellphones are powered down during taping. "We don't possess cellphones," one of them indicates, "we're from Longford.".

It has an ooer reference to the soundgirl Louise, who Ray says carries a pole that she can make bigger. Ray slags one audience member for giving a different one love bites. Red faces over-all. It's the perfect time for the show.

Today's programme is something of a career revival for that Zig and Zag of yesteryear. The Judge from Wanderley Wagon moved all hip and is also barking on about how he or she is now into something called Belgian ambient house music. There exists a good rendition of the Green Cross Code by the particularly giggly person in the Phat Family.

In between all this, pop music questions are posed, Velcro Girl does her thing, DJ Lee spins disks and nobody wins the scooter. Again. Last season, 15 of these were won but so far this year nobody has were answer the hard music question that may see them zooming away on a pile of yellow chrome. So, callous cries of "Get Over Bike" greet another scooterless contestant since the programme concludes.

RUBY & KIMBERLY STEWART Dissatisfied with using both of Rod Stewart's wives, Michelle also took a fancy on the 63-year-old offspring. Kimberley, 28, pictured right, made her Catsuits Lingerie debut posing within the Adore Moi range. Her sister Ruby, 20, then went against her dad's wishes to front up the Michelle at George range. She was told to pull beyond a catwalk show by Rod, furious at Ultimo's decision to dump his missus.

But she still posed because of this sexy shot, left. HELENA CHRISTENSEN THIS supermodel, 39, was Michelle's very first big-name signing in 2006 - and hers continues to be probably the most famous bodies to slip into Ultimo. JADE JAGGER MODEL Jade, 36, isn't the only rock star offspring to take care of up Ultimo's campaigns. The daughter of Sir Mick, 64, launched the Adore Moi range in 2006, prior to making opportinity for Kimberly Stewart. The primary chemises within the nightwear show date to 1840. "It's tough to differentiate those that were worn by men and the ones that were worn by women," she says. "The details on choices similar -- pleats, ruffles. They're homemade from flour sacks or cotton bags. Lower-class along with labourers built them into and took pride of their handiwork. They desired to show their skills.

"They were worn to safeguard their clothes from sweat and dirt," Middagh says. "For men, they evolved into the T-shirt." That T-shirt became more established on the turn of the last century, throughout the same time women were replacing corsets with bras and girdles. "The chemise became more of a shift during the daytime," she explains. During the night, it became a nightgown. The nightgown, in turn, had become considered feminine: From the Second World War, pyjamas were the nightwear most men wore -- these were considered more masculine. They're simple suits.

"You can easily see how sleepwear fashions shifted with shifts in textile production," Middagh continues. "In the 1800s, chemises were cotton. Within the 1900s, synthetic fabrics counseled me the craze. These were new, they were glamorous and cheap." In cartoons, Betty Boop wore black garters which has a black slip that's as sleek as satin, or sateen. "In World War Two, soldiers were sending silk nightgowns thus to their wives back Canada. Of course, cotton is big again. Bedsheets are made of T-shirt material. Lots of Catsuits Lingerie is made from cotton. Nothing feels better. Well, bamboo feels really good. Bamboo -- that is going to function as the latest fabric we fetishize."

The idea of muscles word "Catsuits Lingerie''

Your bra and pants were what we saved cash on, since no one saw them beyond your house.

What it's all about that Catsuits Lingerie was important did start to settle to the British woman's consciousness within the 1990s with all the street advertising for the Wonderbra, offering the promise that many woman might have a cleavage. And the fashion for Latex catsuit men custom made as outerwear, consciously visible bras and slip-dresses, brought underwear out of the sock drawer.

The rise of Catsuits Lingerie sales is here as for women who live started to spend more on clothes - and private grooming. The average British woman has become better dressed and looked-after than she's got have you been, probably because she's got more disposable income and much more choice with what to acquire.

We have now purchase this season's catwalk copy at Zara or order the modern Marc Jacobs from Net-a-Porter, if we are ready to spend pounds 1,000 around the latest It bag, and also have weekly manicures, pedicures and brow-shapes, it makes sense for shopping to permeate the full wardrobe. In the event you look fabulous on the outside of, do you really want to be wearing greying cotton pants with a sturdy white Littlewoods bra underneath?

"Feeling confident in great-fitting Catsuits Lingerie can be a real boost to the ego, and doesn't have to cost our planet,'' says Soozie Jenkinson, head of Catsuits Lingerie design at Marks & Spencer. "There's no excuse today for women to stay in the potentially embarrassing situation of flashing an ageing, greying bra strap under a beautiful camisole.''

Catsuits Lingerie, like lipstick and chocolate, makes the category of self-indulgence. Wearing luxurious, sexy Catsuit underwear tells the wearer that she is worthwhile. Joe Corre, co-founder of Agent Provocateur whose new bridal range has modelled by Kate Moss, explains how the mission, if the company was setup

14 in years past, would have been to say to the opportunity customer: "This is something you've forgotten - how to look sexy.''

Clothes mail out messages about ourselves, about who we're and might know about do for income. Every occasion demands the correct dress. But underwear doesn't have rules. If you don't can easily see it, it can be anything you like. Under the tailored navy shift dress, you could be wearing a crimson plunge bra along with a thong. It is primarily the freedom that glamorous Catsuits Lingerie can represent, the data that you've a a part of oneself how the boss can't control.

"We are actually living in a have-it-all society where women tend to be more confident about their sexuality along with the interest on beautiful Catsuits Lingerie has grown,'' agrees Franceska Luther, creative director of London-based Myla, just about the most successful newcomers on the upmarket Catsuits Lingerie market. "Women are buying more frivolous, fashionable and fun Catsuits Lingerie as a possible expression with their sexuality.''

Underwear is, necessarily, about intimacy, about touching. Silk alongside your skin layer can remind us there's more your than standing in the rain awaiting the bus. The revival of burlesque, with Dita Von Teese's resurrection of a fashion for that voluptuous shape, makes underwear itself a kind of fashion, as significant because your dress or your shoes in defining yourself along with your sexuality. The satin bustier beneath your top could be the equivalent of the Manolos on your feet.

But imported from America is usually the long-forgotten thought of undergarments as foundations: the structure that holds set up the garments you wear ahead. Fashion in the last decade has posed a number of problems: low-rise jeans required low-rise knickers; skinny jeans needed ones with no visible panty line. "Many fabrics and shapes are difficult or impossible to use without the right colour, shape and fit of underwear worn underneath,'' says Helena Boas of Bodas.

The appearance of supportive Magic Knickers and Spanx returned us, albeit in a slightly different form, for the corsetry of our parents' generation. Indeed, a quick video, shown with the V&A's recent Golden Age of Couture exhibition, which showed Dior models being laced within their wasp-waisted undergarments, was obviously a reminder the hour-glass figure from the Facelift was accomplished not merely by dieting but in addition by an underpinning that have just as much steel boning because Forth Bridge.

FUSING Boogie AND ART Right into BEAUTY

To get a jewellery designer, it becomes an accolade when someone appreciates work enough to wear it.

Tonight, two Birmingham-based designers can have the honour of seeing their jewellery used in boogie.

Birmingham Royal Ballet is holding a special fashion evening to increase funds for the Birmingham Royal Ballet Trust Latex Clothing Store.

Among the items has to be flow, by five members of the ballet, wearing nothing but slinky black catsuits plus some fun and funky jewellery.

Samira Saidi, an ancient first soloist using the BRB, has choreographed a chunk determined by jewellery produced by Kathryn Marchbank and Miranda Sharpe.

Samira choreographs to the National Youth Ballet and teaches talented youngsters through BRB's Education Department.

In choreographing the jewellery boogie, her kick off point was the constraints with the 40ft x 18ft catwalk.

'It was discovering something that was visually pleasing that's more than walking up and down a catwalk,' said Samira. 'That was my biggest challenge.'

There are five girls involved in the boogie, so training how to get all of them on and off the catwalk after a while to improve their jewellery, all inside the space of four minutes, was her initial step.

'It was as being a mathematical puzzle,' she said.

Samira chose salsa music as it was up-beat and fun, echoing the playful feel with the jewellery.

'I wanted something sexy also,' said Samira. 'The girls are wearing catsuits from Walfords. They're like very, very sheer black stockings and i also wanted to imply to them off.

'I wished to show ballet dancers inside a different light, carrying out a different form of show from the ones you generally see them doing.'

For Kathryn, from Barnt Green, it's a dream becoming reality.

'This is one thing that I'd expected them to be decade in the future,' she said. 'I'm so excited I can not wait for the event.'

Aged 25, she's currently studying for an MA at the Royal College of Art working in london, and it is considering the best place of bijou in performance.

'I like making jewellery that's stimulated by the rhythm and fluidity expressed in the dynamic language of boogie,' she said.

'I'm enthusiastic about the way in which motion is constant at our disposal. To capture movement in the show on stage and build something beautiful with music and jewellery is definately a joyous thing. It's wonderful to become a part of it.'

The BRB show may also feature top British designers Bruce Oldfield, Tomasz Starzewski, Catherine Walker and Ben de Lisi.

Birmingham Royal Ballet dancers will model costumes designed by Jasper Conran for David Bintley's ballet The Shakespeare Suite.

The fashion evening starts with a champagne and canape reception within the Round Room at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery.

The show starts at 7.30pm inside Banqueting Suite from the Council House within the presence of the Lord Mayor.

Kelly's nice day with latex jeans

She actually is uncertain how her boyfriend will react. She's got been with Joel, a 22-year-old artist, Latex Jeans , for approximately 5 years. "It (modelling) is simply another job I suppose, it's nothing special," according to him. "It's that Kelly is lucky enough to do a job that pays so well I reckon.

"I don't reckon it's changed her in any respect, she's pretty down to earth and modelling doesn't come into her own little world, i find pretty admirable."

How does he deal with the unwanted attention Kelly receives from men? "It utilized to annoy me heaps, I did before desire to fight (them) a lot, now I merely discover how to ignore it.

"I guess it's people just looking at whatever they can't have, like some people take a look at Ferraris. We do not really step out excessive, so it's much less of the problem."

"On trains and buses if she's going somewhere late at night or at the start of the morning I strive to get along with her, easily can't however like her to trap a cab. There are many weirdos these days - I seriously want her to get her licence. Sometimes I strive to instruct her several martial arts moves."

Does he involve himself in the market? "I'm not really into the industry myself whatsoever. I'm a graphic artist and so i spend throughout the day taking a look at magazines and models and also you get a bit over it."

12pm: Anderson tells Kelly jane is "on hold" for a lot of parades during Spring Fashion Week, meaning she's been optioned to appear but not yet booked. She'll probably appear in the Myer and David Jones parades.

1pm: She visits a bayside casting to demonstrate her book for the print ad. She shows the agent her book, and stands by the window so they can require some polaroid test shots for that client. I'm here to determine what early-career models do, I believe that. "Well, in about 15 minutes she'll be sleeping with me, and Fifteen minutes after that the art director," the casting agent quips. A picture of restraint, Kelly shows no reaction. She says that sort of banter is normal, but she won't go personally - though I'm beginning to think she requires a bouncer.

A similar person later says he thinks Kelly isn't "weird" looking enough to hit the big time being an editorial model, because of the current taste of fashion editors for strange or androgynous looks.

Neither does Kelly take this, or casting rejections generally speaking, personally. "You cannot, you need to know for many years you happen to be simply a look, of course, if you don't suit it isn't really you, it's that you're not the style they're after."

1.45pm: She dates back to Trowsdale's salon to remain preparation for the L'Oreal awards.

Monday

7.30am: A driver picks Kelly up at home so she will get ready for the hairdressing finals. She gets her make-up and hair done before attending your competition media conference. She's going to wear the Versace cat-suit at lunch.

1pm: Hairdressers and models separate for supper. The hairdressers receive an entire luncheon, models have small cut sandwiches and fruit.

They then view rehearsals for tonight's program, by which they are going to model their hairstyles throughout the song Sexual Healing sung by Jon Stevens, then parade on stage using their hairdressers. Rehearsals last from 2pm to 6.30pm. Trowsdale, with all the colour work she's got done on Kelly's hair, is probably the 17 national finalists.

The rehearsal passes slowly. Does the boredom factor find yourself getting irritating? "Definitely. I do believe it's so imperative that you have other interests at the same time. Whether or not this (modelling) 's all you're centering on as well as your life involves i think it might be very tiresome and boring, while there is a great deal waiting around. You need to have other interests to hold your head occupied and keep learning."

She knows modelling is not for the long term: "It's just starting to go so well at moment that I want to get it since it comes, and see how well it's going.

"If it sets out to drift off Let me do a little other thing. If all goes well I'll get it done five or Ten years and, understanding that way I'll convey more money that will put into my offer and more money to shell out, travel-wise."

Dwight Yorke trounces the election three an individual

First, an apology. Within this column yesterday we suggested that John Prescott had brought the political election campaign alive regarding his firm stance against egg throwing and fashionable Latex Catsuit.

Sorry. Got completely overly enthusiastic. Occurring again. Because in the cold light of morning it is now clear that Prescott is doing nothing in the sort. From your go through the front pages with the papers there isn't any doubt that this political election is approximately as lively as early closing day in Auchtermuchty.

On Monday Sunshine was keen on a lottery winner that has had Pounds 50,000 pinched from his checking account than it was ready Jack Straw's plans to be tough on paedophilia.

In the morning the paper's front page carried good news that the Angel of Death ended up being to wed a vampire (and thus Beverley Allitt, a nurse jailed in 1993 for that murder of four years old children, is hoping to marry Mark Heggie, who drank the blood of your woman he attemptedto murder). Election news, for example it was, may be situated on page eight.

However it is The Mirror that is doing most to take our minds off tax, education, Europe, economic forecasts, the population sector borrowing requirement and all that stuff. It had been The Mirror which brought us fascinating news by what the Man utd footballer Dwight Yorke gets as much as in nightclubs.

Yorke is known as Smiler because he always has a grin on his face. And achieving look at Mirror we've a pretty good idea why. Showbiz reporter Jessica Callan met Yorke as she stood on the bar of your Monaco nightclub during the Laureus World Sports Awards. She was chatting to Jordan, a model and Yorke's girlfriend, when the man himself retracted.

"The Pounds 25,000-a-week striker leant over," said Jessica, "and whispered inside my ear: 'Do you fancy a threesome?'" The reporter was naturally shocked. She made an excuse, but stayed.

"I looked to Jordan for the bit of sisterly support, but it was instantly clear that my busty new chum wasn't batting a heavily made-up eyelid. Nothing seems to surprise this girl. On Planet Jordan, anything goes."

Well, not anything. In the following day's Mirror, Jordan was furious with Dwight for dancing with Rachel Hunter, formerly generally known as Mrs Rod Stewart. And Jordan -who was celebrating her birthday -had been trying so hard.

"Jordan had geared her whole birthday towards titillating Yorke," reported Jessica. "She said in regards to a gun-metal catsuit she had just brought." Later Jessica even helped the model squeeze back to the catsuit after a visit to the ladies. And yes it seemed worthwhile eventually.

"Back that the gym has, Jordan experienced a shorter moment of triumph as she glanced at Dwight and Ryan Giggs. 'Oh look,' she said. 'They're investigating my bum.'" Is this in whatever way for young role models to behave? Children look up to people like Yorke and Giggs. Aren't they setting a bad example? It seems like not. Modern children just don't possess enough time to adopt notice of what footballers wake up to. A lot of them have their particular sex lives to concern yourself with.

According to The Sun, school trips are rife with passion. "A third of pupils confessed to some kind of sex, plus a fifth had full intercourse during stays away from home," the paper reported.

Time for funk: In any manner you stretch it

Beat. Hippy. Mod. Rocker. Punk. Glam. Goth. Rave. B-Boy. Inside their 1996 book, Surfers Soulies Skinheads & Skaters, Amy de la Haye and Cathie Dingwall explain the "trickle up" fashion theory that has influenced such designers as Calvin Klein, Chanel, Versace, Yves Saint Laurent - and every one of us who buy those labels.

Reported by users, all those style words are eventually settled, produced in higher quantities, given to dedicated followers of favor and what started as subculture becomes mainstream. Then this kids return back out and invent new things in their own business. Now "funk" is again the word popular: "Earthy, unpretentious, rooted inside the blues, a word meaning modishness, fashionable and trendy." Funk will be here and something of the local designers is ex-fashion stylist Judith/Jude/Judith Desjardins.

Most commonly known as Jude, she's a way independent (or eccentric). Her Bodybag company designs and produces funky polyester Latex catsuit rubbersuit overall with lacing , zippered everything, stretch-it-yourself tube knits, small jackets, hooded tops, opened skirts and pants - and any situation that looks three sizes too tight.

It's actually a clubwear and/or a streetwear look, or any personal combination of both. It's underground and fashion funky. If it looks on one level, then it is wrong on another ... quite often! Jude, a fashion rebel, didn't head to any fashion school but has signed on for some courses at L'Ecole Superieure de Mode. Just in case.

"You can't predict," she shrugs and laughs. "I didn't think I desired the schools. I'd been making my personal clothes and dressing my Barbies since i have was 8 or 9. I didnrrrt just enjoy them. I built them into making each of their clothes and accessories."

At college, when all the guidance counselors were suggesting careers, in law or medicine, do not require had a word for fashion or design, she says.

"I was into communications, graphics, the look and way of things. I simply made my clothes plus some of my friends' clothes. Things just happened. Used to do T-shirts. I was always in front of everyone else's things by about a couple of years!"

Around the club circuit, it absolutely was some of those stories about somebody seeing somebody in something - and wanting it. That was the way was for Jude.

She did sexy little bare dresses, like boxes, two pieces tied about the shoulder; these were popular and so she took along with other things, for instance a one-sleeve top. Quick things which has a look.

Quite a 26-year-old entrepreneur which has a sometimes-blonde, black-rooted funky-fountain hairstyle, wearing heavy boots and also a funky junky combination of odds and ends, she looks so right.

An associate who needed a photo stylist gave her work. Then, on a trip to Ny, a possibility selecting Matt E Silver (promoter to the Dee Life group) generated several Manhattan stores selling her clothes.

She's discussing a future which includes sales agents and strategic plans - performing a collection much like the big professionals do. She knows it is going to work.

"Things happen much like that," she laughs.

"People want to assist me to. Playing is a big puzzle of an million pieces - and they are generally all joining together."

D Montreal stores that carry Desjardins's designs include: Juan & Juanita, Escense, Cosmic, Il Bolero, Mango Sport, Ocean's, Planete (also in Moncton, Mississauga, Calgary, Toronto, Kitchener). Prices run from Fifty to maybe $ 150
